On April 24 our family will be participating in POAC’s Walk for a Difference Autism Walk-A-Thon for the third year.
The statistics in New Jersey are the highest in the world with the numbers reaching 1 in 94 children and growing. Our sweet boy is one of them.
When we walked last April for Autism Awareness Month I could not believe how far Carter had come in the 1 1/2 years since his diagnosis. Now… this year we continue to be in awe. He takes my breath away each and every day.
From the very beginning I was lucky enough to be connected with POAC and I took EVERY training that they offered. With all the information I learned we were able to formulate a plan. And that plan is WORKING!!! Every minute of the day we are using all that free education to make Carter well again.
They are providing us with a very expensive education for FREE. They are going around the state training Police Departments to deal with those children who escape from home. They offer programs and outings for siblings for FREE. They continue to offer events that for some families is the only time and place that they EVER feel comfortable and at ease. POAC is by far the leading provider of autism education, programs and training in the state if New Jersey. 100% of all programs are FREE to anyone who WORKS or LOVES someone with autism.
Together we can help not only our family but every family in New Jersey impacted by autism. And help POAC continue to fund new ,exciting, and exceptional ideas.
