I am participating in a walk-a-thon to help kids with autism and I hope you can help.
Did you know that 1 in 94 children born today in New Jersey will be diagnosed with autism? That’s a new diagnosis every 21 minutes. Sounds overwhelming, doesn’t it? Well an organization called POAC is doing great things every day to help these children and their families. POAC provides training to thousands of parents, teachers, and other direct services providers in the teaching techniques needed to teach and reach these children. Additionally, they have provided life saving training to law enforcement and first responders throughout the state. They also provide a host of direct services and recreational programs, including their Free Annual Carnival and surfing events, to all children with autism and their families. The best part is, no one is ever charged a penny to participate in any of these trainings, programs, or services.
POAC has impacted thousands of children with their programs, but they can only do this with your support. They need your help to continue to make a difference in the lives of children with autism and the families that love them. Right now we are looking for team captains, walkers, sponsors, volunteers, and anyone with something to contribute to this really great day. Join me. Together we can make a difference now!
